Day 16 Malaga, Spain, overnight and the market, trip to the Canary Islands, 28th January 2026

The market is typical of any Portuguese or Spanish artisinal market with many meat stands, a whole fresh fish section and fruits that if grown in Spain make them some of the best I have ever seen. The bunch of asparagus are huge and though expensive the quality is excellent. Strawberries the size of ones fist. I couldn't take picture as the sellers can become irritated with the tourists. Breakfast was a croissant with egg and jamon for me and cheese and ham for Michael. Coffee was excellent. Even though there were no Cappuccino,  just black coffee or coffee with milk, lots or little milk. You decide as you order and it comes to the table already milk added.
We walked around to the historic centre in the opposite way, to the previous day, along the beach. Again no white sand.
Past the lighthouse
In the rain, always in the rain.
Loved Malaga, even in the wintery rain people are lovely and welcoming. The museums, churches, fortresses and castles beautifully maintained and history is preserved.
