Urke - The small town at the end of a fjord. 24 September 2022

Places we sailed past today.
We went off the ship in a tender to Urke, a tiny town at the end of the Jjorundfjorden. Farming with goats and sheep and lots of people chopping wood in readiness for the winter. In beautiful surrounds we climbed straight up the mountain. After a 5.5 km walk we got back on the tender and back to the boat.
Also our first day of gym. Just walking up the stairs from level 3 to level 7 has tired my legs. We getting off in Alesund to walk the old city and back on the boat for dinner at 20:00
Norway wants to build a ship tunnel, first of its kind in the word, to avoid the unpredictable seas between Bergen and Alesund.
Great weather for the whole week with good opportunity to see the Northern Lights.
