Paco 28km roman roads were meant for chariots not feet

The slowest 28km I have ever done, 3 stops for coffee and water - otherwise straight uphill on roman roads until Rubias and then down from there into Paco. So very glad i didn't carry on to Valence - staying at Quinta Estrada Romana - Geoff and Lesley know what people need on the camino. Clothes washing done, supper and breakfast. Awesome place very much like the man cave with stone inside as well as outside.

Stage 2 Barcelinhos a Ponta de Lima

The landscapes are unbelievably beautiful ancient and imposing. The variety of scents as you walk are so interesting. Today is the first day of autumn here in Portugal yet there are flowers in bloom wherever I walked.

Stage 1 Jorge dropped me off in Mosteiro

Missed the industrial area of Porto and started walking at 7:30 on a mixture of road, and cobblestones (roman road). Scenery is indescribable so so beautiful. Walked all the way to Barcelinos arrived here by 16:00 having done approx 40km. Feet are sore and legs feel like they have done some work. So have eaten presunto, mussels, yoghurt and didn't like the pickled veg. Off to bed - Bon Camino everyone 😘
