Day 17 Thursday 12th December 2024, Bridgestone, Barbados - the Caribbean Cruise

We proceeded through immigration and out of the ship, sad in some ways as it had been our home for fourteen days, some issues as there are not many that walk out of the ship. Everyone is either on an excursion or catches a taxi.
Ready to start rolling down the road towards our accommodation some two kilometres away, based on the other island streets, the bag drag was not going to be easy.

The walk was actually great until we got outside a park which we should have walked through rather than on the road. Drivers are very chilled with long queues of cars waiting for pedestrians to cross or sometimes because someone has gotten out of the car for directions.
At this stage it was pouring with rain, not only could I not see my phone for google maps but our luggage was soaked. We overshot our accommodation by 2 blocks, eventually after waiting for the rain to abate, walked back and found it.

After the torrential downpour, we found SAVVY on the bay, a fun bar on the beach, where as I was  sopping wet anyway I went for a swim.

The shower after the swim worked really well, washed my clothes as well, put them back on and in the heat, they dry quickly.
After a refreshing beer and swim, we went back to out apartment to dry out our stuff and rest.
