Day 3 Jasi (Darren's Boat), Bellver Castle - Saturday 9th November 2024

Darren showed me throughout his boat and we met Katie James who was looking after Jasi the gorgeous boat while Darren has time off to visit with his mama. Loved Darren's office, the engine room, everything in its place. Beautiful.
We walked to Bellver Castle. It was designed as a royal residence and defensive fortress, in keeping with strategies conceived by the Royal House of Mallorca.
The hilltop constituted an excellent lookout point for keeping a close watch on any external threat by land or sea. From the 18th centaury onwards, it was converted into one of the island's main prisons. The castle was a especially useful when highly influential political and social figures needed to be silenced and kept in isolation. For more than seven hundred years it has witnessed some of the most glorious, turbulent, sad and cruel episodes in Mallorca's history.

Now it is used as a wedding venue, we watched a bride and groom walking up the Castle steps on their way to getting married.
