Great flight to Zurich, 11 hours and I slept most of the way. After arrival I got more and more anxious as it looked like I only had 1 hour to get to the gate to fly to Palma pushed my way through a queue of people and through customs, where they took the wine out of its duty free bag and scanned each bottle separately through a separate scanner. Not sure what they are looking for?? I wonder if they would have scanned white wine??
Anyway, I ran all the way to the nearest board only to see that the gate number still was not on and it showed 10:40 as the time that the gate would show on the board, it was passed 10:40 on my watch. Yes, Palma time is one hour behind Johannesburg time.
Having understood the time difference, had a lovely illy coffee out of this machine
An electric airport bus being charged.
Flight to Palma on Edelweiss carrier, they give the best biscuits, I didn't want the sandwich but asked for an extra biscuit so Ouma and Carlos can try them, I have never tasted biscuits so yummy, they taste like honey.
We parked on the taxiway for an extra hour as Palma was calibrating its landing instruments. Uneventful flight arriving 15 minutes late in Palma, walked through corridors for what seemed like hours. Picked up my bag and walked through one of 6 exits, no red and green lines, just exits. No customs checks whatsoever.
