Day 2 Penang, Malaysia, 5th February, Sunday

We walked into Georgetown. One can see the English influence with a tower dedicated to Queen Victoria's reign and other buildings constructed in that era.
Caught a local bus to the bus terminus and a second one to Penang Hill. A funicular ride up the hill and a walk of 6+km straight down. So many steps.

Wobbly legs and thoughts of Machu Picchu. Why couldn't I just have got the up and down ticket!! Stunning botanical gardens at the bottom, so all worth it.

No taxis available so carried on walking to the bus stop. A taxi arrived while we were seated at the station and took us to Keck Seck Si Buddhist temple with a 60 meter tower of Buddha.
The largest Temple i have ever seen,  beautifully decorated.
Caught a bus back into town to walk the jetties where the poorest people of Penang had built their houses. These houses are now owned by some of the richest people in the area.
